Leon carries a stepping stone by the stream

Scene 01

Morning After the Rain

After the rain, Heart Garden smelled of wet leaves. Leon shook drops from his mane and stood by the little stream; today he and his friends had promised to visit the new starflowers.

One stepping stone was underwater. Leon lifted a heavy pot stand, then paused to study the current and the stones. “Leave the hard jobs to me—but let’s look at the path first.”

Scene 02

The Broken Flower Path

A broad leaf spun in circles on the water, and a low twig bridge made a small creak. Leon planted all four paws on a flat rock and watched where the water slipped.

Instead of rushing away from what worried him, he drew a safe path with his eyes. Coco and Mimi looked for a way across that would not disturb the stream.

Scene 03

Tiny Visitors

Little leaf caterpillars crossed a branch. Leon stepped back; his ears lifted and the tip of his tail went still. “Tiny insects make me nervous,” he said honestly.

The caterpillars were not coming toward Leon. They were simply searching for a dry place after the rain, so Leon called his friends without making a loud sound.

Scene 04

Friends Who Do Not Laugh

Mimi explained that the caterpillars were heading for dry grass. Nobody asked Leon to go close.

Leon found a job he could do from a safe distance: he brought a flat piece of bark and two smooth pebbles, planning a crossing that would leave both paths open.

Scene 05

Before Using Strength

Leon could move a rock quickly, but he did not want to block the caterpillars. Coco marked a safe place with leaves.

Whenever a caterpillar wriggled, Leon’s paws felt tickly. He closed his eyes beside a bush and took two slow breaths. “Being nervous does not stop me from doing a safe thing.”

Scene 06

Two Bridges

Leon set down a smooth stone for his friends, then supported a low branch for the caterpillars.

His strong paws made the paths sturdy, and his careful choices left room for everyone. If the water wobbled, he lifted his paw and checked again.

Scene 07

Courage Checks First

“I am still nervous, but I can check this path first,” said Leon. He crossed slowly on all four paws.

He checked both ends of the bridge and watched for wind lifting the leaves. “Courage is not rushing in,” he said. “It is checking that everyone will be all right.”

Scene 08

A Garden Crossing Together

Friends crossed the stones one at a time, and the caterpillars reached the dry grass. The stream glittered beneath the little bridges.

Leon smiled: “When I am afraid, I can say so—and we can find a safe path together.” Nobody had to hurry to reach the flowerbed.
