Scene 01
The Flower Cart at the Bend
The next morning, a small Storm Ranger working model pushed a flower cart toward the bend by the bench. Two little pots to water and a soft cloth rode in the cart.
The front wheels stopped beside the low stone. Storm Ranger's eyes flashed. “Calculation complete! We should make the path wider!”
Coco looked at the crooked tree and its shade behind the bench. “First, let's see what stopped.” Mimi sat quietly beside the cart.
Scene 02
Fix It Fast, or Look First?
Storm Ranger started measuring the width with a hand. “Move the low stone, clear a few leaves—” Coco gently held the cart handle.
“I want the path to the bench to stay the same. And the tree's shade,” Mimi said. “The cart got this far just fine.”
They set the pots side by side on a clear, wide spot nearby. First they would send only the empty cart through the same bend.

Scene 03
The Hook Went First
They rolled the empty cart back one handspan and turned it very slowly. The wheels passed the stone well. But a little metal hook at the cart's side tapped a low wooden post.
“The cart isn't too wide,” Coco said. Storm Ranger tilted its head at the hook. It tied packages when needed, and folded into a side slot when it was not.
“I did not fold the hook because I hurried,” Storm Ranger said. Without touching it, Mimi asked, “If it folds, will the cart truly pass?”
Scene 04
Not Giving the Answer All at Once
Storm Ranger began to fold the hook, then stopped its hand. “Before I say ‘calculation complete,’ I will check one more thing.”
Coco pointed to where the cart wheels would go. Mimi watched the bench side. She wanted to know that the cart would not come too close if someone was resting there.
They folded the hook into its slot and rolled the cart back again. This time, there was a small space they could see between the wheels, the post, and the bench.
Scene 05
Turning a Little at a Time
Coco watched the front wheels. From the bench side, Mimi held up a paw to show, ‘Only this far.’ Storm Ranger turned the handle one step at a time.
The cart did not push the stone or touch the post. The crooked tree's shade stayed where it was. But the cart was still empty.
“We must see whether it is the same with the pots,” Storm Ranger said. Its voice was no longer fast. Coco spread the cloth again so the soil would not shake.

Scene 06
A Small Bend After a Long Pause
They put the two pots back in the cart and covered them with the cloth. Mimi walked beside it to watch that the pots did not tip. Storm Ranger first checked that the hook was in its slot.
“Are you ready?” Storm Ranger asked. Coco nodded, and Mimi stepped clear of the bench-side path. Together, they turned the very small bend.
This time the cart went through quietly. Storm Ranger said nothing until it reached the bench. Then its eyes grew round. “Pass confirmed.”
Scene 07
The Empty Space in the Cart
They set the pots down on a wide space beside the bench. Only the cloth and an empty space remained in the cart. Coco looked at it and laughed. “We did not make the path wider, but the cart has more room now.”
Storm Ranger drew three small pictures on the cart's route card: a bend, a folded hook, and a slowly turning wheel. It wrote no words, only the three pictures side by side.
Looking at the card, Mimi said, “Next time, look at the cart before the path.” Storm Ranger tucked the card back and rolled the empty cart a little backward.

Scene 08
A Stop Can Be Part of the Way
On the way back, Storm Ranger paused again before the bend. It checked the folded hook, the place for the wheels beside the stone, then Coco and Mimi.
“Another long pause?” Coco asked. Storm Ranger nodded. “A very short pause. But as long as it needs to be.”
Together they turned the cart slowly toward the gate. The bench shade and low stone stayed just as they were. Anyone using the path next could begin by looking at the bend.
